The students of Salt Lake Point School celebrated Teachers' Day on 5th September with a great pomp and fanfare. A friendly Cricket Match was organized between the Staff and the Students of class IX to XII where the Lady Luck smiled on the Staff side. The primary section celebrated the day by decorating their class rooms and performing for their dear teachers. The teachers also joined the children and performed along with them. The senior students arranged for a cultural programme to entertain the teachers which was started with the 'Guru Vandana' followed by a Bengali recitation from Class XI, a dance performance with a Rabindra Sanget, Fusion music- by the students of class XI and XII. A short Bengali skit on the origin of the name of our city of Kolkata by the students of class IX , X and XI and the 'Durga Vandana' by the students of class VII and XII were highly appreciated. The enthusiasm of the students and their excitement to put up a grand show to express their emotions towards their teachers could be easily felt. The students presented mementos to the Staff. The eventful day was not yet over. A short programme and a sumptuous lunch were arranged by the Managing Committee.
