Salt Lake Point School CD- 249 celebrated their Annual Concert for both junior & Senior School on 16th and 17th January, 2016 and also celebrated the 40 years of the school’s journey from its inception at the Bharatiyam Cultural Multiplex (EZCC). The programme began with the Principal’s address welcoming all the eminent guests and dignitaries followed by the Saraswati Vandana- an invocation for wisdom and consciousness. The junior school concert featured a medley of songs and rhymes and dance performed by the little ones from KG section to class II. The Hindi drama “Akbar- Birbal”,The English drama “Snow White”- A Journey through the wonderland’, and the Bengali drama ‘Bon Jodi Na Thakto’ performed by the students from cl III to VI enthralled the audience.
The Senior school brought with them the Hindi drama ‘ Daarnveer Karn’, the Bengali drama ‘Atho Kolkata Brittanto’ and the English drama ‘Temple of the Living God’ based on ‘The Bishops Candlesticks’ by Norman Mckinnel . The wonderful music, well designed costume and props were very impressive. The budding actors seemed to have got to the skin of the characters. The main attractions of the Concert were the two dance dramas ‘Madhurashtakam’ and the ‘Hyms of Creation’ . The melodious choir and the wonderful dance performance earned high accolades from all. The Concert was a delightful treat for the eye. It was truly amazing to see a cast of five hundred students perform to perfection.

Annual Exhibition

All the staff members and students of Salt Lake Point School organized a gala ‘Annual Exhibition’ held on 6th & 7th December, 2014 in the school premises from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. We were honoured to have Mr. Gerry Arathoon, Chief Executive & Secretary , CISCE as the Chief Guest to grace the occasion. Students exhibited models, charts, live demonstrations on plethora of topics from all the subjects in the curriculum. The ‘Wonder World’ from the Science Department, true to the word was a wonderland with the wonders of science i.e. a ‘light and Shadows ‘ with all waste products, sensor driven car, clap switch , chemical bomb, models of oil refinery, Blast Furnace, Renewable sources of Energy, Double Circulation of Mammalian Heart, Fresh Water Eco system, Reflex arc etc. There was ‘Everything under the Sun’ in History and Geography departments right from the models on Indus Valley Civilization, Egyptian Civilization to global warming, rain water harvesting and expedition to Mars . Students featured the literary works of classic as well as contemporary writers of English, Bengali and Hindi literature through charts & models. Commercial Banks, Pre & Post Independence infrastructure in India showcasing the replica of Howrah bridge & other important bridges were the centre of attraction in Commerce & Economics Dept. There were stalls on photography, dance, music also but the most vibrant were the stalls of Kindergarten and the Primary section with all their colourful art & crafts. 
The entire school premises were given a rustic look with the theme ‘Crafts of Rural Bengal’. Craft stalls & games stalls were erected with the shape of thatched huts. The huts were exuberantly adorned with decorative handfans, winnows, shells, sholas, decorated plates made of sal leaves , figurines by the students. Many hand made items made by the teachers and students were sold in the craft stalls. The entire exhibition in the school premises basking in the festive mood turned into a ‘Feastival’ as there were many food stalls satisfying the culinary tastes of the visitors. Response from the visitors was overwhelming . parents, teachers, veterans from the field of education thronged the exhibition . The Annual Exhibition earned a high accolade from the eminent guests, parents and guardians showcasing the students’ and teachers’ endeavour beyond the classroom.
